Description
Each county in Minnesota has a County Veterans Service Office (CVSO) to assist veterans and their families.
* Assist veterans to get state (dental, optical, subsistence programs, housing) and federal (compensation, pension, medical treatment) benefits
* Advise, counsel, educate and provide advocacy for veterans about benefits like medical, pay, housing and education
* Initiate benefit claims filing
* In some counties, transportation services are offered for rides to Veterans Administration (VA) Medical Center appointments

A program administered by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs that provides special payments for the eligible survivors of deceased veterans whose wartime or peacetime service meets specific criteria for service-connected death compensation or non-service-connected death pensions. Eligible survivors (dependent children, surviving spouses and parents) who are seriously disabled may also qualify for Aid and Attendance or Housebound benefits which are paid in addition to the basic benefit.
